The inaugural FedExCup Fall kicks off with this week’s Fortinet Championship at the Silverado Resort in Napa, California. Players beyond No. 71 in the FedExCup standings after the TOUR Championship will continue to compete in the FedExCup Fall to remain in the top 125 for 2024. Players in the top 70 will also play but have already clinched their cards for the new season. Max Homa returns to California this week, aiming to become the first player since Steve Stricker (2009-2011, John Deere Classic) to win three straight editions of the same tournament. He finished T9 at the TOUR Championship and ended the season with five top-12 finishes. Sahith Theegala will also be teeing it up at Silverado this week. He settled for 31st in the FedExCup standings but finished T13 and T15 in the first two playoff events. Justin Thomas will also be in action in California after being selected as a captain’s pick last week for Zach Johnson’s American Ryder Cup team. Johnson will be in the field this week, with Vice Captain Stewart Cink.
